Lateral–torsional buckling resistance of corrugated web girders based on deterministic and stochastic nonlinear analysis

There is no commonly accepted and reliable design method to determine the lateral–torsional buckling (LTB) resistance of steel trapezoidally corrugated web girders. Therefore, focus current paper on investigation this failure mode, detailed evaluation structural behavior determination accurate LTB resistance. An advanced finite element (FE) model developed validated using results laboratory test performed at Budapest University Technology Economics in 2018. Based experimental background virtual tests are a simply supported beam subjected by pure bending moment. The effect different flange sizes, corrugation layouts, boundary conditions grade including high-strength as well, investigated. Two kinds parametric studies (i) deterministic (ii) stochastic nonlinear analysis.
